What are water soluble vitamins?

Water soluble vitamins are vitamin B complex and vitamin c

Vitamin C :- ( Ascorbic Acid )

It's daily requirement is 60 mg per day. It is also named as Ascorbic acid due to its Anti - scurvy properties. It is the non stable among all vitamins as it gets easily destroyed and is highly soluble in water. It is also lost when food is dehydrated.

Scientist have discovered eleven water soluble vitamins out of which eight are considered essential for humans
Vitamin B are classified as :-

1. Classic deficiency disease preventing vitamin :-

B 1 ( thiamine) --------------- beriber
B 2 ( riboflavin)--------------- Aroboflavinosis
B 3 (Nicotinic acid)----------- pellagra

2. Anaemia preventing vitamins :-

Pyridoxine -------------- Hypochromic anaemia
Folic acid ----------------- Macrocytic anaemia
Cyanocobalamin-------- pernicious anaemia

B 6 is also known as pyridoxine, B 9 as folic acid and B 12 as cyanocobalamin.

3. Recently discovered coenzyme factors

B 5 (Pantothenic acid)
B 7 ( Biotin)

Source of vitamin B are yeast, liver , oatmeal,peas, bread, cheese, kidney e.t c
