Freezer Burn And It's solution

Freezer burn is a condition that occurs when frozen foods has been damaged by dehydration and oxidation due to air reaching food . This happens when frozen foods get exposed to air . Food affected by freezer burn suffers in quality particularly in terms of texture , colour and flavour. Food with higher moisture content tend to be more affected.


Meat , poultry, fish may develop dark brown colour and vegetables becomes dry , shrieveld and gets covered with ice crystal. Similarly, starchy foods will develop rough texture. The food items become dry , discolour and cover with ice crystal.

Now the question meat arise to us? Are they safe to eat !! Yes , They are safe to eat but they don't taste great. the taste is inferior. 


To prevent foods from freezer burn we should wrap food very well and store . No air meant no freezer burn hence, foods should be wrapped properly and stored in freezer. Similarly, we should keep frozen food at - 18 degree Celsius or lower. Similarly, only open freezer when necessary otherwise opening frequently will cause temperature inside to change and more ice crystal will form when they start to thaw.
