In today's article I will be talking about various cakes, biscuits and bread, which you can prepare easily by following simple ingredients and Methods of preparation. 

1. Banana Cake

Ingredients required

AP Flour             500 grams

Banana               5 pieces

Egg                       6 nos             

Sugar                   250 gram

Vanilla essence      1 tablespoon

Baking powder      1 tablespoon

Banana essence     1 tablespoon

Butter                      100 gram

Methods of preparation:

  • Mix all the ingredients properly (mix dry ingredients first and add wet ingredients). Then, bake at 165 degree Celsius for 20/25 minutes. 

Chef notes: ensure your tray is glazed properly to prevent sponge from sticking and check the doneness by inserting toothpick. 

2. Chocolate Brownie

Ingredients required

AP flour            500 gram

Egg                      6 nos. 

Sugar                  400 gram

Butter                  200 gram

Cocoa powder    200 gram

Vanilla essence   1 tablespoon

Methods of Preparation:

  • Mix all ingredients properly and bake at 165 degree Celsius for 20/25 minutes.

3. Brown Bread

Ingredients required

Ap Flour         1 kg

Salt                  50 gram

Water              1 kg

Dry yeast        50 gram

Sugar               90 gram

Brown whole wheat flour    1 kg

Methods of preparation:

  • Activate the dry yeast by soaking in luke warm water/milk for 15/20 minutes.
  • Mix all the ingredients and add it in glazed bread mould. Let it proof for some time and bake for 20 minutes at 235 degree Celsius. 

Vanilla biscuits

Ingredients required

Ap Flour               100 gram 
Sugar                      40 gram
Butter                    70 gram
Vanilla essence    15 gram

Methods of preparation:
  • Mix all the ingredients and add it in glazed Baking sheet by giving required shape. 
  • Press it by something hard to give flat shape. 
  • Bake at 180 degree Celsius for 20 minutes.
Chef notes: we need flour with lower gluten content to make biscuits while we need flour with higher gluten content for cake making

White bread

Ingredients required

Ap Flour            500 gram
Water                 200 gram
Salt                     1 tablespoon
Dry yeast           30 gram
Sugar                  200 gram

Methods of preparation:
  • Mix all the ingredients and bake it by placing in glazed bread mould after proofing it for some time. Bake at 230 degree Celsius for 20/25 minutes. 

French Bread

Ingredients required

Whole wheat flour      1 kg
Water                             600 gram
Salt                                  40 gram
Sugar                              50 gram
Dry yeast                       50 gram

Methods of Preparation:
  • Activate the dry yeast, mix all the ingredients and bake it in baking sheet at 235 degree Celsius for 20/25 minutes.
